Imprisoning someone is also imprisoning yourself, because the world for you becomes small where the limits revolve only...

The act of not forgiving is like a person who traps a bird in a cage.

Arresting him means making him live like you: unable to fly. It is preventing him from living his life freely and discovering new paths. It's taking away the power of choice and its consequences.

When you don't forgive someone, you are imprisoning them inside your mental cage so that, every time you need to, you can see them there and remember the sad thing that happened with the feeling of achievement for having managed to get revenge. You may even appear to be free for being outside the cage, but your mind is imprisoned for imprisoning.

Imprisoning someone is also imprisoning yourself, because the world for you becomes small where the limits revolve only around the environment where the cage is with the prisoner. You live (unconsciously) for it and this prevents your mind from expanding and renewing itself.

Given this, it is possible that, at some point, you wipe your eyes to see better and realize that you are the one inside the cage.
